Dr. Michael Law
Dr. Michael Law is a board-certified plastic surgeon. He grew up in Raleigh where his father, Reverend Thomas Law, served as pastor of St. Paul’s Christian Church for 30 years. Dr. Law attended Broughton High School. He then attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree with honors and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. He received his M.D. degree at Emory University, where he graduated magna cum laude, second in his class of over 100 graduating physicians.
Dr. Law then traveled west to California. He elected to pursue a rigorous ten year training program that includes general surgery residency at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), plastic surgery residency at the University of Southern California (USC), and a plastic surgery fellowship at USC. His ten years of formal training following medical school amount to twice that of some plastic surgeons.
Dr. Law is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. He has authored and co-authored publications appearing in peer-reviewed journals and surgical textbooks, and he has made presentations at regional and national meetings throughout the United States. Since 2004, his North Carolina practice and medical spa have twice been featured on the cover of Plastic Surgery News, the official news journal of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
Upon completing his surgical training, he remained in California where he had a successful aesthetic plastic surgery practice in Beverly Hills. North Carolina always seemed like home, however, and in 2002 he made the decision to leave California and bring his exceptional training and talents to his hometown of Raleigh. He still sees patients from California and all parts on the country who seek natural results from plastic surgery. Dr. Law resides in Raleigh with his wife Kile and their two young sons, Luke and Lang.
Kile Law is recognized as a leader in the medical spa field. She is one of nine individuals nationwide selected as part of the National Day Spa Association (DSA) advisory board for 2005. Kile has appeared on numerous television programs and in many magazines. She is an in-demand speaker at both medical and spa conferences. She is regularly interviewed by television news and entertainment programs seeking her expertise on medical spas, lasers, and anti-aging skin care.
In 2003, Blue Water Spa opened in Raleigh, North Carolina. The spa is owned by Kile Law and her husband, board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Law. Since opening, Blue Water Spa has been voted best day spa in the Triangle area and was voted one of the top four medical spas in America 2005 by American Spa Magazine. Blue Water Spa has also been recognized as a 5-star beauty destination by New Beauty Magazine. Blue Water Spa has been recognized as one of the best places to work in the Triangle by the Triangle Business Journal 2005

Kile has been involved in the spa industry since 1991 and soon after entered the world of medical aesthetics. Kile’s Newport Beach, California company, Laser Aesthetics, was instrumental in the concept of bringing physicians and aestheticians together. She worked with the Italian inventors of microdermabrasion to develop the protocol that is used today in medical offices everywhere. Kile literally “wrote the book” on medical microdermabrasion and her clinical manual has been translated into six languages and distributed worldwide.
Kile Law served on the state of California Laser Hair Removal task force in 1996. She worked on FDA studies for both microdermabrasion and endermology (the first device to receive an FDA clearance for the treatment of cellulite). Since 1995, she has been providing training to physicians and others on laser hair removal and a variety of medical aesthetic treatments. Blue Water Spa serves as a training center for physicians interested in aesthetic lasers and medical spa services.
Today, Kile works part time at Blue Water Spa, spending most of her time enjoying life as a wife and mother of her 2 young sons.
Blue Water Spa has received the Metro Bravo Award for best day spa in the Triangle 2003 and 2004 from Metro Magazine. Blue Water Spa has also been voted best spa in the Triangle this year by Citysearch.
